Practice makes Perfect

So these are my latest endeavors at improving my cake making skills. The darker photo is a cake covered in chocolate and topped with berries, it was yummy! The pink one was my second go at fondant, not too shabby, I am doing a small wedding cake next month, my first wedding cake for a non-relative, wish me luck!

Camping at Boca, July 4th

Call us crazy, we coasted into Fernley at 11pm from Canada, and left the next morning at 9am to go camping with Jen & Brodie at Boca. It was worth the effort! We just lazed aroung the lake and enjoyed the good company.

Hiking at Tahoe

We raced home from Canada and so we could celebrate the 4th here. We feel pretty lucky to be part of two great countries! We enjoyed a hike near Tahoe...reminded us of Missoula. I love the great outdoors, we are blessed to be surrounded by such beauty! Thanks to Loron who always gets us out and about exploring the countryside!

Skipped the Country

Oh Canada!

We had a great trip to Canada for the big Canada Day celebrations. It was a long haul...17 hours to be exact but it was worth the trip. We had fun playing with our families. The boys did a lot of fishing, golfing, and baseball playing. The girls were great cheerleaders, cooks, and shoppers. There were tons of cousins and the kids had a blast, they have all decided that when they grow up they are moving to Raymond, and we can come visit them there! The Powelson family put a team in the softball tournament this year and came so close to winning it all...it was one of those we should have won it moments... everyone had tons of fun and Loron won the contest for Ugliest Facial Hair...I was so glad when he got rid of it, couldn't get over what a handsome guy I had married, he has proposed that he grow a beard every other month so that I appreciate him more, don't worry I vetoed that idea fast! We enjoyed the Raymond parade and Brigham and Sophie got to ride with Grandpa Dave in it so they could throw candy, they loved every minute of it. We visited with Grandma Ruth and enjoyed her company. We missed our Aunt Dana who passed away from a brain tumor last month, she was always full of life and happiness, and we are thankful for her example to us. We got pictures with everyone in Loron's family, it is quite a crew! The week, as always, went too fast...but we are thankful for all the fun memories we made. We are still Proud to be Canadians too!

Good Catch

Brigs snagged his first fish of the season. A good-sized pike from Corner Lake, in Raymond. The boys came home with 3 fish for us to eat, Loron couldn't be out done by the Brigster! Teach a boy to fish and he will be addicted for the rest of his life.

Boca or Bust!

We headed off to Stampede and Boca with the Fosters for a fun camp out. Roy and Jaque as always spoiled us with their nice trailer and jet skis...Sophie proudly told everyone she knew that she went 55mph on the jet ski. It was a blast we sure love the Fosters, they are such great people and good friends.

Odds N Ends

June was a busy month at our house, we finished up school, went camping a few times, played for many hours at the waterpark, prepared for our trip to Canada -- Loron did the most work for that, it takes alot of energy to grow a beard like that-- We celebrated Father's Day with a yummy breakfast, Dad sported his King for the Day crown created by Sophie, and Brigham informed us that he is excited to be a dad so that he can make all of the rules at his house! Life is good.

Happy Birthday to me!

It was a great birthday weekend! We got to go camping with the Barnes and Waite Families up in Tahoe City. Great scenery, good firends, good times, lots of laughs...pretty much a perfect weekend. We had a great site right on the lake where Jen could get some beautiful shots. We enjoyed delicious food, a leisurely bike ride along the river, and relaxing afternoon on the beach. And I only got a little bit sunburned, have to say that my skin and the Nevada sun don't get along too well! Thanks for a fun birthday!
