So its a little past 2am and if the quality of my posts seems to be diminishing I am sorry, just try to ignore any typos and all of the poor grammar and punctuation, better to get something posted than nothing at all is my new motto. A couple of weekends ago we had the opportunity of going to the Reno Air Races with our friends (an newly discovered cousins) the Cards. Trevor's dad is building a home right baove the air field and we had amazing, front row seats for the action! We camped the night before, ate yummy food, read, the kids rode their bikes all day, and the dad's rode dirt bikes. Oh, and the mom (me) tried to ride a dirt bike. Yep, wish I had a video camera for that one. Let me just begin by saying that Loron made me do it! So after being coerced into getting on that dang contraption and a quick lesson on where the cluth, and the gas, and the brake were...where did you say the brake was, I must have missed that part. So yeah, I started out, was feeling pretty good, even managed to figure out how to shift it into second ( I know I am brilliant) and then of course they had to throw a curve into the road . Well needless to say my brain suddenly quite functioning and for the life of me I could not remember how to brake. In a moment of panic I hit the gas and launched myself off the road and into the boulders and sage brush, there might have been a little @*!#? escaping my lips and then all of a sudden I was flipped over with a bike on top of me. I layed there looking at the blue sky, legs in the air, running a broken bone check, and listening to Loron come to my rescue...was he ever worried! So the only thing really injured was my pride. I came away with my token torn shirt, some scratched arms, and some good bruises. Nope, have not gotten back on the bike, maybe one day when there is a long stretch of desert with no turns and I can take my time figuring out where the brakes are. Oh, and by the way the air show was really cool! We got to see the thunderbirds, the Raptor, and all kinds of other jet races! We will definitely be doing that again, the races, not the crashing part.
